Rustoleum - Pegakote Floor Paint is a water-based epoxy coating for interior use on flooring surfaces. This product can be applied directly on most mineral substrates such as old concrete, tiles and glass.

Rustoleum Pegakote floor paint is an epoxy coating designed for use in warehouses, showrooms, garages, workshops and indoor car parks. Offering excellent abrasion resistance and protection from solvents and oils, this product contains a range of properties that make it extremely popular within the industrial industry.

Surface Preparation

The substrate should be dry and clean, free from ascending humidity and sufficiently coherent (tensile strength min. 6 kg/cm²). Pegakote can be applied directly on most mineral substrates (f.i. old concrete, tiles, glass etc.). Curing compounds in case of poly-concrete have to be removed by means of sand or grit blasting.

On newconcrete or non-porous concrete, remove cement grout by sand or grit blasting, treatment with diluted hydrochloric acid at a ratio of 3 l hydrochloric acid to 10 l water or with Surfa-Etch 108. For these two last solutions, there is obligation to rinse abundantly and to allowdrying through of the surfaces. Porous substrates shall be impregnated with Pegakote diluted with 10 to 20% volumewater. Pegakote may not be applied on an elastic paint coat or a moving substrate.

Directions For Use

To ensure homogeneity, coating materials should be thoroughly stirred prior to use. Stir the activator thoroughly using an electrical mixer at lowspeed. Add progressively under stirring to the base. Stir the mixture thoroughly until an even colour and consistency are obtained during minimum 3 minutes. Temperature of the mixed materials should be at least 10°C.

Application Conditions

Minimum 8°C and maximum 80% R.H.

Application & Thinning: Brush

If necessary, dilute with water.

Application & Thinning: Roller

Dilute 1st coat with maximum 10% volume water. Apply 2nd coat undiluted.

Application & ThinningL Airless Spray

Nozzle: 015 - 017 / Pressure: 220 bars. 1st coat: dilute with 5 - 10% volume water. 2nd coat: dilutewith max. 5% volumewater.

Application & Thinning: Rake/Trowel

Pour the material on the clean floor and distribute it evenly with a rake or trowel. Treat the surface directly after application with the deaeration roller to release the trapped air and to improve the self-leveling effect. Maximum DFT: 3 mm. When used as a self-leveling coating, drying times will be slower: 24 hours for pedestrian traffic.
