Brighten your garage with a clean, glossy, showroom-quality floor that is 5 times stronger than 1-part epoxy. Rust-Oleum® EPOXYSHIELD® Garage Floor Coating Kit applies in one easy coat and protects against gasoline, antifreeze, motor oil, salt, hot tire pick-up and cracking—for years to come.
EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating offers a multi coloured fleck finish that is user friendly and easy to apply in once coat. The product has an excellent wear, impact and abrasion resistance like heavy foot and vehicle traffic. EpoxyShield resists chemicals and standing water. The kit consists of a two part epoxy coating, a cleaning solution, decoration chips, paint paddle and an instruction DVD.
Rustoleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Paint is best used as a garage floor coating but can also be used outside on floors like car parks. Ideally this product will be used on all types of concrete floors, which are completely clean and dry. It is not recommended to apply on smooth or dense concrete or concrete that contains a curing compound, which would potentially prevent a good adhesion. EpoxyShield can also be applied on any old good adhering coatings.
Firstly the surface will need to be prepared appropriately, make sure any oil or grease has been removed. This can be done using a scrub brush and a good quality cleaner/degreaser such as Rustoleum ND14 or use a solvent cleaner. Scrub the floor thoroughly and wipe up the excess cleaner with rags or paper towels to prevent contaminants from spreading. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and make sure the floor is puddle free using a broom or squeegee.
By using the instructions mix the product with a mechanical paddle mixer and apply appropriately using a paint roller. While the paint is still wet, scatter the flakes as required. Once the paint is dried, likely sand to denib the flakes. We recommend a clear overcoat to seal the flakes such as Rustoleum 4900 Polycoat 2K.
Rustoleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating can be used on concrete floors which are completely dry and clean, but is highly recommended for use in garages. We would not recommend use in garages which are prone to flooding as this will affect the performance of the product.
