The substrate must be clean, solid and load-bearing. The wood moisture content should be 12% - 14%. If necessary, wash tropical woods with universal thinner beforehand.
Depending on the requirements of DIN 68800, protect exterior wood against blue stain and rot with an impralan primer containing active ingredients.
Stir well before use. Use a suitable abrasive for intermediate sanding (grit 180-220). To avoid uneven moisture absorption, coat all sides of wooden components. Do not apply and dry below + 10° C (ambient air, substrate and material) and not in direct sunlight.
To achieve faster through-drying and surface hardness, the product can be additionally cross-linked with max. 8% impralan hardener (200 ml per 2.5 ltr.). Pot life: 2 hours. The material should be processed within this time.
The compatibility of sealants with impralan top coats and impralan glazes must be checked. Sealants based on silicone or butyl rubber are suitable. The adhesion of sealants for connection joints must be checked in advance on the coating.
When used on woods with a high content of wood ingredients, such as meranti or oak, discolouration may occur. In this case, an insulating intermediate coat is required.
