But What Is It?

Masking tape is a lightly adhesive, easy to tear, paper tape, that can be smoothly applied and removed without leaving marks or damage. Traditionally also known as painter’s tape, masking tape comes in a variety of widths and is designed for use in painting, to mask off areas that should not be painted.

This tape also works great for marking, with a writable surface, so you can easily designate markers and stop points. With it's paper like "easy tear" design, it's perfect for ripping up into small sections used for a huge variety of work, in fact not only is it easy to rip but being easy to remove, the lack of marks left behind means it's ideal for sticking to painted surfaces, where otherwise you'd be taking out chunks of paint.
