- Improves the adhesion of coating systems
- Neutralizes alkaline salts
- Also ideal to remove ´white rust´ from metal
- No objectionable odour or fumes
Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution should be used for etching smooth concrete surfaces, masonry, galvanised steel and aluminium before applying a RUST-OLEUM coating system. Surfa-Etch 108 neutralizes alkaline contaminations and removes zinc- and aluminium corrosion products ("white rust") Surfa-Etch 108 should be applied with a stiff nylon brush or a broom.
Directions For Use
To ensure homogeneity shakewell before use. Scrape or sweep away grease, oil, dirt and all other surface contaminations as much as possible. Degrease by means of alkaline cleaning, high pressure (steam) cleaning or, for small patches, by volatile solvent cleaning. Apply Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution liberally and scrub it into the surface. Allow to stand for 10-15 minutes, depending on temperature, and clean thoroughly by flushing with plenty of fresh water. Do not allowthe Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution to dry before rinsing! Concrete and masonry may need a second treatment. After cleaning, remove any remaining water and allowto dry completely, as moisture left on the surface or entrapped into pores may cause failure of the coating system. Large surface areas or poor drying conditions may require longer drying times before a coating system can be applied.
Temperature of air, substrate and material between 5 and 35°C.

Practical usage depends on many factors such as type and amount of contaminants, shape
of the substrate and material losses during application.
