Resideck - Tack Primer is a two-part epoxy resin system consisting of a base component containing solvent free epoxide resin plus a low viscosity liquid hardener. Resideck Tack Primer is applied using a stiff bristle brush to give a thin continuous bond layer to clean prepared surfaces.
Resideck Tack Primer is used as a bonding primer where the highest bond values are required. The bonder is used for applications of epoxy resin-based mortars to resin and cementitious substrates in addition to cementitious mortars and concretes applied to existing concrete surfaces. The bond values achieved are greater than the tensile strength of high-quality concrete. Bond lines are resistant to a wide range of chemicals to compliment the applied topping.
Intended Use
Surface Preparation
Ensure that bonding surfaces are free from dust and oily contamination. Suitable preparation should be undertaken to produce a good mechanical key. Steel should be free of rust and flaking mill scale. All substrate surfaces should be essentially dry.
Mixing
Pour all of the contents of the hardener bottle into the base resin container which has sufficient volume to act as the mixing vessel. Thoroughly mix the two components until a homogenous clear product is achieved.
Application
Apply the mixed Resideck Tack Primer to the prepared surface using a stiff bristle brush. Apply a thin continuous film avoiding the formation of puddling. Apply the topping as soon as the priming coat is completed. If the Resideck Tack Primer is absorbed by the substrate, re-prime the surface before applying the topping.
Allow the primer to ‘tack up’ for 10 mins prior to the application of the subsequent treatments. In thin section the primer will remain ‘open’ for 90 mins @ 20°C within which time the subsequent application should be carried out.
Tools and equipment should be cleaned with Solvent prior to the Resideck Tack Primer setting.
