Nature Matt by Teknos is suitable for roller application on parquet and wooden floors in homes and public spaces. Forms a very durable surface. Not suitable for the lacquering of diamond pine and chemically treated wood, e.g., smoked oak.
Directions
Untreated and clean-sanded surfaces: Fill the gaps with GAP parquet putty. Prime the wooden surface with Teknos water-based primer lacquer according to the instructions. Apply 1–2 coats of NATURE MATT along the grain of the wood. Treatment with NATURE MATT only: Apply one coat on sanded wooden surface with a roller. Intersand properly with grit 100–150, and apply another coat with a roller. Ensure even absorption of both coats. Factory lacquered parquets or previously lacquered floors: Clean the floor thoroughly. Intersand properly by using sandpaper or an abrasive net n:o 100–150. Remove the sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner and finish with a clean, lint-free, damp cloth. Apply one coat with a stainless steel trowel and after that 1–2 coats with a roller. In unclear situations, conduct preliminary tests to ensure proper adhesion to the substrate. Note! If the floor has previously been treated with oil, urethane or alkyd lacquer, the floor must be sanded to bare wood before lacquering. Repairing a surface: To restore a floor treated with NATURE MATT, first remove the scuffs and gaps by sanding the area gently with sandpaper grit 150. Then, apply NATURE MATT to the restricted area along the grain of the wood. In small, restricted areas NATURE MATT can be applied, for example, with a foamed plastic roller. Ensure that the previous lacquer coat has fully dried before applying a new one. Always stir lacquer thoroughly before use. Some rubber types in carpets and anti-slip materials may contain plasticisers that can cause permanent surface and colour damage to the lacquer and oil coat.
Application Conditions
The surface to be varnished has to be dry. The moisture content of the wood should be 7 ±2 % by weight. The temperature of the air, the surface and the lacquer shall be above +18 – 24°C and the relative humidity of the air 40 – 60% during the time of application and drying.
