Tor – Raincoat Stabilising Waterproofing Primer/Sealer

For the priming/stabilising of bare, cementitious (eg. asbestos, cement, concrete, etc) porous and friable roofing substrates prior to application of Raincoat waterproofing topcoats.  Tolerant to application onto damp surfaces. An acrylic resin based, low viscosity solution containing biocidal additive and organic solvents.

Application Details:

Apply with a brush or short pile roller.

Surface Preparation:

Dry broom/wire brush to remove all loose dirt, dust and chippings, then thoroughly wash if necessary to remove stubborn surface contaminants (eg. grease, oil, grime, soot, etc). Repair cracks/holes with suitable filling material. Test moss, lichen, etc with Torkill “W” Fungicidal Solution and remove residues. Surfaces should be dry for application, though damp surfaces can be tolerated.

Asbestos containing substrates
Preparation should be performed by an authorised specialist asbestos contractor. Cleaning method to be in compliance with current health and safety regulations

Limitations:

Do not apply if rain is imminent.

Overcoating should be carried out within the timescale overleaf to promote maximum intercoat adhesion and avoid film defects.  Surfaces must be clean.

The product is not designed for overcoating with other products outside the Raincoat range.

Safety Precautions:

A copy of the appropriate Health & Safety Data Sheet should be consulted prior to using the product. This can be faxed if urgently required.

Minimum precautions for all paints:

1. Avoid skin and eye contact i.e. wear gloves, goggles, etc
2. Ensure good ventilation, mechanical if necessary.
3. Store and use away from heat and flame.
4. Do not eat or smoke in the vicinity of work.
5. Wash hands before eating.
