184 Solfibre by Parex is a flexible self-levelling mortar for use on interior floors in domestic and commercial premises. It is ready-to-use, with the addition of clean water, 184 Solfibre is particularly suitable for wooden floors and renovation work.
Usage & Highlights
- Suitable for wooden floors or flexible substrates
- Fibre reinforced
- Quick hardening
- Fluid, self-smoothing and pumpable
- Even hardening 5°C to 20°C
- Rapid Installation
- Rapid setting – Walk on after 3 hours under suitable conditions
When applying 184 SOLFIBRE on flexible substrates it is better to apply a 5 – 10mm layer rather than a thicker layer. However in cases where a thicker layer is required, build up in layers and for large areas, applying a layer of TV10 MESH will also assist.
Generally allow a minimum of 8 hrs curing before light traffic use or before covering. Curing will vary according to:
- Applied thickness
- Atmospheric conditions (temperature & humidity)
- Overall thickness of the coating
Mix one 25kg bag of 184 SOLFIBRE with 5.5 – 6 litres of clean water, i.e. 22 – 24% water content, to obtain a thick, smooth and lump free fluid mortar. Use a high speed paddle mixer, leave the mixture to rest for 3 mins. Then re-mix to a fluid condition prior to application.
Install edge separation using a compressible strip of at least 3mm thick to the perimeter of the room and to any pillars or columns. Apply the product to the substrate in one go, using sweeping strokes of a stainless steel float or a flat spatula (sometimes with a long pole adaption). On forward strokes, hold the float almost vertical in order to remove air bubbles. On backward strokes, hold the float almost horizontal in order to obtain the required thickness. Use a spiked roller to help remove air bubbles.
Temperature range for use between 5°C and 30°C. Covering of the underlayment once it is completely dry (maximum of 8 days).
