This privacy policy is to be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions

At Maker Coating, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of all of our clients and suppliers including those who buy from our website, our shop or buy or access any other information from us over the telephone. In particular, we want you to know that Maker Coating does not sell, rent or trade data to other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.

With new GDPR legislation coming into place, we want to make sure we provide you with all of the information you need with regards to how we use data at Maker Coating.

Privacy Policy
Below – we have provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
Customer & Supplier Accounting Database
When you are a client we store your information within our accounting system ‘Sage’.  This data is stored in a secure database and is stored for the purpose of contacting for accounting purposes in line with HMRC Guidelines. Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your consent.
Clients or Suppliers Data
When contacting Maker Coating – if a quote is required this information is stored on a database which is saved within our secure server which is located within our head office in Exeter.

Clients wishing to set up Maker Credit accounts
We ask all clients to complete a ‘New Account Proposal Form’ when wishing to set up a credit account.  The information provided by the client is used to check eligibility through the use of Experian the credit score experts by a member of the Maker Coating team. Information on how Experian use your information can be found here  The New Account Form is stored in a secure place within the Maker Coating Office.

Online Payments and Sales 
When purchasing through our website all of your information including bank details are handled by our supplier Sage Pay.  You order details (not including bank details) are stored on our website e-commerce system Woo Commerce details of how they handle this data can be found here
As a current customer we use the data within Woo commerce to register you to our mailing list database stored within ‘Mailchimp’ so that we can keep you up to date under ‘legitimate interest’ with latest important information, opening hours, offers, etc (please see below).

Google Analytics
When someone visits we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing Lists & Marketing

As part of the registration process, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about products and services, current offers and industry specific news; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.  You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer Phil Grierson

Access to Data
Under the new GDPR arrangements you are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer [email protected]
