Delivery policy - We aim to ship all products same day where possible (Orders must be placed before 12pm)
Flexcrete Curing Membrane WB is a non-degrading formulated acrylic resin sealer, which forms an elastic, durable matrix within the surface of cementitious substrates. When used with Flexcrete Repair Mortars and Coatings, it conforms to the requirements for water retention given in ASTM C309. The product is water based and has BBA Certification making it ideal for use in confined areas. When cured, it shows excellent resistance to blushing and weathering and can also be used as a sealer coat for concrete.
- Spray as supplied onto freshly placed repair mortars, fairing coatings, cementitious coatings or concrete.
- Convenient alternative to the use of traditional curing aids such as polythene sheeting, damp hessian or sand.
- Non-yellowing, stable product not significantly altering the appearance of mortar/concrete.
- Retains over 85% of the water in the repair mortar during the first 72 hours.
- Safe, water-based product ideal for use in confined areas.
- Non-degrading membrane which enhances adhesion when overcoated with Flexcrete specialist Membranes.
Placing and Overcoating
Curing Membrane WB should be spray applied to the surface of newly placed Flexcrete cementitious mortars and coatings. Application should take place as soon as practicable after final finishing, once any residual surface water from trowelling has evaporated, but generally within 15 minutes. Apply using a conventional pressure spray with a fine nozzle at 5-7m²/litre, taking care to ensure complete and even application. Best results are achieved by holding the nozzle approximately 0.5 to 1m from the surface, whilst spraying backwards and forwards over small measurable sections (1 to 5m²). For maximum curing efficiency, if the surface is subject to strong sunlight or drying winds, a second coat should be applied once the first coat has dried and the membrane film has formed. This waiting time is generally 15 minutes, whilst the first coat is still tacky, depending upon climatic conditions. Treated surfaces must be cured for a minimum of 72 hours before overcoating with a Flexcrete specialist membrane to ensure maximum adhesion.
